The Pepperbox Revolver is a weapon found in Civil War: Secret Missions.

Details[]

Pepperboxes were the early precursors to revolvers. They featured multiple barrels clustered in a circle that could be fired one at a time with each pull of the trigger. Pepperbox revolvers came with many types of firing mechanisms depending upon the model and date of production, and were common among United States citizens as a self defense weapon between the 1830s and 1860s.

Interactions[]

The Pepperbox Revolver is one of the rarer handguns in-game. One is first seen during the mission Dr. Gatling's Secret Weapon, where it is the default secondary weapon. A few can also be found scattered during later levels, although by the time the player comes across them they will usually have acquired a better sidearm that makes the Pepperbox unnecessary.

The gun itself is arguably the worst handgun in the game, with the shortest range and lowest stopping power. However, if used in the right situations the Pepperbox can prove to be a decent enough way of fighing yourself out of a corner if your primary weapon has run short on ammo.

Trivia[]

  • The Pepperbox in Civil War: Secret Missions is an Allen & Thurber design.
  • The gun is incorrectly portrayed as being reloaded by removing the barrel and attatching a new one, when in reality the user would keep the original barrel and simply load new cartridges into it each time he/she ran out, much like any other handgun.
